Arizona "Vintage" Camera

Yay! for my first DIY

( Rank of Difficulty: Medium )
Sorry if the photos are bad quality.
I was doing this in the bad lighting of my basement with the camera on my iPhone.

I saw this first on YouTube by a girl named Bethany Mota. Her channel is called MacBarbie07 if you want to check it out. I am absolutely obsessed with all her videos. Anyways, I thought I would do a step-by-step guide to making a "camera" out of recycled Arizona cans. I love their tea, and the cans are so bright and colorful they shouldn't be thrown away :) So, let's get started.

MATERIALS
*2 (empty) Arizona cans
*scissors
*hot glue gun (with glue sticks)
*ruler
*6cm x 3cm cardboard piece (may need to modify)

First, you will need two Arizona cans. Make sure to drink all the deliciousness within before proceeding.

Start off by cutting off the top and the bottom of the can so that you have two Arizona "tubes". Warning: it is quite difficult to get the scissors first cut into the can, but once you get the first it is very easy from there.

Now, find the Nutrition Facts on both "tubes" and cut through the middle of them, creating an Arizona "sheet" this time.

This is where you use the ruler. Taking your scissors out again, cut both "sheets" into 13cm x 6cm smaller sheets.

Hopefully your glue gun is warm by now because you need it to glue the two sheets together to form another tube.

Now put your piece of cardboard in the tube to make it keep its "camera body" form. If you wish to cover your piece with mustache ducktape... so be it. :{

Taking one of the tops of the can that you previously cut off, cut as much of the remaining blue that you can.

Glue the top to the surface of one of the sides of the "camera body". Make sure to use a LOT of glue and hold while it dries.

This part is tricky. Grabbing one of your left over pieces from the nutrition facts, cut slits into all sides. Now fold the sheet so that it acts as a top for the "camera body".
Next, pull off the "tab" thingy from the unused top from the can and glue it upright on the top of the camera to create a "button".
After, grab a scrap of metal and fold it into a triangle shape and glue it to the other side of the top to create a "flash".

Voila! You now have your Arizona "vintage" camera.
This is what it should look like.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY :) More to come soon

Sincerely,
Melanie

HALLELUJAH!

Don't you just hear the angels singing praises? Because I most definitely do. Their song feels my ears with great, great joy. Joy that.... Freshman year is officially over and it's SUMMER! My smile is currently too big for my face. I am so delighted that I am no longer at the bottom of the food chain in the wild hunt that is high school. I am more ecstatic, however, about the fact that I am now free from school work for two and a half months (granted I do have Driver's Ed. next week which will probably feel like school).

"Freedom. Freedom. Freedom" is currently chanting in my head along with High School Musical's "What Time Is It". I have the usual hope that this summer will be amazing (even though I usually spend most of it being a loner and doing nothing- but I am too excited to doubt the future awesomeness of the next few months). Anyways, so that there is more of a point to this post I decided to include the very first plans of mine that have been accomplished this summer :)

As a start to this summer my mother and I had a bit of a girls' day :) so it shall be shared with you pretty people.
We went to lunch (corner bakery's california grille sandwich=happiness inside me). After, we got a "Deluxe Pedicure" at a place called Bella's Salon or something like that.
I have to say I love getting my nails done, but the first part where they like rip out your hang nails and even just filing my toenails kind of hurts.. That could just be me though. And oh my goodness! I am a goner when they like take off the dead skin with the... cheese grader (at least that is what I think they used on me this time)... I try my best to not flip out and cry laughing every time, but I never succeed.
spring/summer colors!

I have awkward feet....

Lastly, we went to get bubble tea at "Cafe Au Lait", which is pretty much the tastiest thing i shall ever try. Now, I am about to walk out the door for dinner with my daddy and I will most likely just catch up on "The Vampire Diaries" tonight or just watch movies and be delightfully lazy. So it seems this summer has started off well, but I am almost certain that the fact that it is summer will not kick in until like next week. And that is everything!

So... Yeah. Happy Summer everyone! I hope it exceeds all your hopes.

Also, not only am I planning on having new adventures this summer, but new blog posts as well! So, stay tuned, and spread the word :)

Sincerely,
Melanie xx
